“DANVILLE – Myrtle Brumfield Ware, 86, of 131 Mitchell Street, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Danville Regional Medical Center. Born February 2, 1922, in the Dry Fork community, she was the daughter of the late W.A. Brumfield and Cassie Doss Brumfield. She was married to Claude Ware who predeceased her.
Mrs. Ware attended Schoolfield School and retired as an inspector with Dan River Mills. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and the Auditorium Bible Class. She had been in declining health for the past year and a patient in the hospital for six days prior to her death.
Her survivors include a daughter, Sandra Carmichael and husband Dan of Danville; a Grandson, Brian Davis and wife Betty Jo; three great-grandchildren, Brian Davis, Jr., Kaylee Davis and Cody McBride all of Danville, a sister, Vera Knight of Danville and son in law, George Davis of Danville. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Davis and three brothers, Morris Brumfield, Arthur Brumfield and Jesse Brumfield.
Funeral services will be held at Riverview Baptist Church, Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronnie Andrews officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
