Pat Corbin Ware Obituary, 2009

“Pat Corbin Ware, 91, of 123 Mitchell St., died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. He had been in declining health for the past six months. Born May 23, 1918, in Culberson, N.C., he was the son of the late William M. Ware and Mary Gladson Ware. He was married to Helen Mitchell Ware, who predeceased him.

Mr. Ware had lived in Danville for 60 years and retired at age 62 after 36 years employment with Dan River Mills. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and taught Sunday school for many years.

He is survived by three brothers, Max, Glenn and C.S. Ware, all of Murphy, N.C.; a niece, Sandra Carmichael, of Danville; a foster son, Doyle M. Cook, of Danville; three grandchildren, Danielle Merricks, Matthew Cook and James Cook; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of out of town nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Andrews and the Rev. Duane Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery.”
