Verlin Ware Obituary, 2006

“DANVILLE, Va. – Verlin “Bogie” Ware, 81, of 272 Horse Shoe Road, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He had had a decline in health for the last five years.
Born August 17, 1924, in Culbertson, N.C., he was the son of the late William M. Ware and Mary Gladson Ware.
He had lived in the Danville area for the past 60 years. He worked for John W. Daniel Construction Company for 40 years as a heavy equipment operator and retired at age 65.
He attended Mt. Pleasant School. He was a member of Vandola Baptist Church and served as a deacon and usher.
He was married to Iris Hylton Ware.
In addition to his wife, of the residence, he is survived by one sister, Bertha Gladson of Murphy, N.C.; and four brothers, Pat Ware of Danville and C.S. Ware, Glenn Ware, and Max Ware, all of Murphy, N.C.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Claude Ware and Floyd Ware.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 3 at Vandola Baptist Church with Dr. Leroy Clack, the Rev. Ricky Lancaster, and the Rev. Steve Ware officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at Vandola Baptist Church; at other times they will be at the residence, 272 Horse Shoe Road, at Bachelor’s Hall.
Swicegood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.”
