She was born in Indianapolis, grew up in Eaton and Muncie, graduated from Burris High School in 1951, and earned her Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Michigan. After starting her family, she went on to Ball State University where she earned a lifetime teaching license in Mathematics and Chemistry.
Mary taught for several years in the Muncie Community School System at Wilson Junior High, Southside High School, and Northside High School. Her desire to help families and individuals struggling to cope with personal problems changed her career plans. Mary pursued many interests with friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, traveling, playing bridge, making stained glass pieces, music, art, reading, riding bicycles, and most especially golf. Mary was always ready to enjoy life, friends, as well as help in times of need.
Surviving are her daughter, Katherine Ware; a brother, Dr. Robert Hall (wife-Phyllis); and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. O.A. and Florence Hall; a daughter, Susan E. Ware; and her ex-spouse, Dr. Herbert E. Ware.
