“Montie June Hunsinger was born 21 Jun 1877 in Chatfield [Township], Crawford, Ohio (Ohio, Births and Christenings Index, 1800-1962). Her birth record says her name at birth was Monte Jay Hunsicker. In the 1880 US Census it was Monta June Hunsicker.

Her parents were Peter Hunsicker and Obluna [9 spelling variations] Buchman. Montie had 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Hunsicker and Otilia Knieriemen, both from Bavaria, Germany. Jacob and Otilia had 3 sons and 3 daughters. Her maternal grandparents were Adam Buchman and Catharine, both were also from Bavaria, Germany. They also had 3 sons and 3 daughters.

The Hunsicker family moved to Greentown, Howard, Indiana in 1888 when Montie was age 11. It appears that after the move, the family changed their surname to Hunsinger.
Montie married Charles L. Ware on 1 Aug 1909 in Howard county, Indiana (probably in Greentown) as “Montie Hunsinger” (Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941). They appear to have had no children.

Montie and Charles lived in Greentown for the remainder of their lives. Charles died first in 1945. Montie passed away on 9 Feb 1962 in Greentown and was buried next to her husband in the Greenlawn cemetery in Greentown, Indiana on 11 Feb 1962.”
