Samuel Valentine Ware Obituary, 1971

“Samuel Valentine WARE, 65, Mentone, died Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at Woodlawn hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1906 in Kewanna to Thomas and Ellen GREER WARE. He was married to Yvonne M. O’DELL on May 17, 1930 in Belvedere, Ill. He was employed by the Bendix corporation in South Bend. He was a member of the Brethren church of Grass Creek and the Warsaw Eagles lodge. Surviving are the wife; five daughters, Mrs. Howard (Joyce) SWINEHART, Warsaw; Mrs. Nancy OWENS, Etna Green; Mrs. Charles (Dawn) WALTON, Mrs. Eldon (Sharon) SENFF and Mrs. Jerry (Sharlene) ROSS, all of Mentone; a sister, Mrs. Edith DANIELS, Tucson, Ariz.; twenty-nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. The parents and four sisters preceded in death. Last rites will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the King memorial home in Mentone with T. R. JONES officiating. Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday.”
