“Mrs. Ware was a retired college professor. She earned her master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Chalmers Collins and Preston Ware; her parents, Earnest Leo Smith and Missouri Ann Champion Smith; one sister and one brother.

She was survived by two sons, William Earnest Collins of Inverness, FL and Chalmers Allen Collins, Jr. of Montgomery, AL; one daughter, Patricia Collins Pace of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.”
