Peggy “Mama” Ware, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2012. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Monday in Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 2 p.m. to service time Monday. Memorials: Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
Peggy was born July 23, 1925, in McKinney, to John and Clara Rodgers Welsh. She met the love of her life, Paul Ware, when he was stationed at Perrin Field during World War II. They were married for 45 years prior to his death in 1988. She lived in Arlington for over 40 years before moving to Garland to reside with her daughter, Patricia Richmond, and family for the last six years. Peggy loved to visit and keep in touch with family and friends. She regularly called relatives and even stayed in touch with letters and phone calls to high school friends over the years. Her greatest joy and purpose in life was her family, immediate and extended. She always did everything out of great love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; sister, Velma Lou “Sissy” Drury; daughter, Linda Houston; and daughter-in-law, Frances Ware.
Survivors: Son, Paul Ware Jr. and wife, Amy; daughter, Patricia Richmond and husband, David; son, George “Butch” Ware; son, James Ware and wife, Ellen; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
