CUMBERLAND VALLEY, Pa. — Dorothy Marie Ware, 83, of Cumberland Valley, Pa., died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at her home. Born Sept. 29, 1928, in Cumberland, Mrs. Ware was the daughter of the late George Francis Greise and Margaret Elizabeth (Barrett) Greise. She was also preceded in death by her husband 62 years, Samuel E. Ware, on June 13, 2010; a son, Steven Edward Ware; and a brother, Fred Greise. A homemaker, Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Dorothy is survived by her son, Timothy P. Ware and wife Sharon, of Flintstone, and her daughters, Jane M. Higson and husband Larry, of Pine Ridge Road, Pa. and Rita Ann Fey and her husband Frederick, of Evitts Creek Road, Pa. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty E. Ware, of Lake Gordon Road, Pa., Mary Lou Heavner, and Judy Roche, both of Cumberland; her brothers, Bernard Greise and wife Carol, of Cresaptown, and Larry Greise, of Cumberland; her grandchildren: Sherri M. Kline and husband Dorcil, of Cumberland, April Higson and Teresa Friend, both of Pine Ridge Road, Pa., Herb Higson, of Rockville, Angie Liller, of Keyser, W.Va., Dustin Clayton, James Fey, and Rebecca Fey, all of Evitts Creek Road, Pa., as well as six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Samuel, Lane, Matthew, Andrew, and Patrick. A special thanks from the family to Meghan Wilson, Kathy Friend, and Dorothy Kegarise for the care they provided Dorothy. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
