PETERBOROUGH — Kathleen Ware, 90, died April 5, 2006, at Rivermead Retirement Home where she had lived for the past six years. Mrs. Ware was born in Seattle, Wash., Jan. 31, 1916, to Raymond Mott and Kathleen (Bradley) Calkin. She attended Miss Hall’s Girls School in Massachusetts and graduated from Finch College in New York City in 1936. In 1939, she married John W. Sample, who died in 1948. In 1949, she married Elliot Ware, who died in 1996. She lived in Lake Forest, Ill., Wilton, Conn., Amherst and Wilton, and came to Peterborough in 2000. Family includes two daughters, Kathleen W. Kaminer of Washington, Texas and Lucy McGuffey of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jane Egan of Cazenovia, N.Y. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Huber, in 2002. There are no calling hours. A memorial service is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Unitarian Church, Main Street, Peterborough. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to N.H. Nature Conservancy, 22 Bridge St., Concord 03301. Holt-Woodbury Funeral & Cremation Service, Peterborough is assisting with arrangements.
