CUMBERLAND VALLEY, Pa. — Samuel Earl Ware, 82, of Pine Ridge Road, Bedford, Pa., went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 17, 1927 in Cumberland, Md., Mr. Ware was the son of the late Samuel Walton Ware and Margaret Louise (Clites) Ware. He was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Edward Ware; a brother, Robert Ware; two sisters, Eleanor Smith and Dora Shipley; and three infant siblings. A United States Army veteran of World War II, Sam retired from Pittsburgh Plate and Glass. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Sandy Crossing Hunting Club. Sam is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Marie (Griese) Ware; his son, Timothy P. Ware and his wife Sharon, Flintstone, Md.; his daughters, Jane M. Higson and her husband Larry, Pine Ridge Road and Rita Ann Fey and her husband Frederick, Evitts Creek Road, Pa.; his brothers, Howard Ware and his wife Paula, Lake Gordon Road, Pa. and Gerald Ware and his wife Wilma, Evitts Creek Road; his sisters, Thelma Larry and her husband Bill, Eva Rae Heinrick and her husband Paul, all of Cumberland and Patsy Stickel and her husband Reed, Centerville, Pa.; his grandchildren, Sherri, April, Dustin, Teresa, Herb, Angie, Rebecca, and James; as well as six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Father Ty Hullinger officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

I am trying to find more information about Samuel Walton Ware. My mother is Penny Lorraine Ware, her Father was Gerald Delano Ware. He was Samuel Earl Ware’s brother and Samuel Walton Ware’s son. I cannot find Samuel Walton Ware’s parents name. I believe from stories that Gerald Delano Ware would tell me that Samuel Walton Ware was a runaway from Valley Head, West Virginia. However I may be getting that wrong and Samuel Walton Ware’s father was the runaway. Either way I am having trouble connecting from Samuel Walton Ware back to the Ware’s of Valley Head, WV where I believe they originally settled after immigrating.
