Bernice (Johnson) Ware, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Sun City West, AZ on Friday, (January 18, 2008). Bernice was born in Bloomfield and lived all her life in Bloomfield, Hartford and Farmington until relocating to Arizona in 2002. She is survived and will be missed by her caring children, Ferne Ware Ridley (Charles) of Glendale, AZ, Gary Ware of Sun City West, AZ, Bradley Ware (Lisa Heintz) of Hartford. Bernice will also be missed by her family in the Bronx, NY, former daughter-in-law, Joan Barnes; her grandchildren, Courtney Ware and Jason Ware; and her great-grandson, Jaylen Morales. Surviving is sister-in-law, Willa Ware of Bloomfield. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Fred Ware. She will be missed by a host of cousins and friends in the Hartford area. Bernice was a long time employee of various health organizations in the Hartford area, including the Visiting Nurses Association and the University of Connecticut Health Center Farmington. After retirement, she was also an active volunteer with AARP and the Attorney General’s Office. Final arrangements are incomplete but will be private at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held in Connecticut later this year. Arrangements in Arizona are handled by Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375.
