OTTUMWA — Roger Stanley Ware, 58, of 415 Carlisle, died April 8, 2013 at home. He was born August 31, 1954 in Des Moines, the son of Clarence and Marjorie Ware. He married Fonda Richardson on September 13, 1975. They divorced after 12 years of marriage. Roger attended Blakesburg High School. He worked for Rockwell International in Fairfield for 16 years, and then worked and lived in Arkansas for 14 years. He moved to Ottumwa in 2002. Roger was an avid Betty Boop collector and also enjoyed collecting rocks and Indian artifacts. Surviving are his children, April (Terry) MacQueen, Aaron (Rachel) Ware and Alan (Amanda) Ware all of Ottumwa; six grandchildren, Whitney (Nate Smith) MacQueen, Justin (Jordan Huff) MacQueen, Mercedes MacQueen, Gannon MacQueen, MaKenna Ware and AJay Ware; a sister, Cathy Gowdy of Ottumwa; a niece, Tammy Gowdy of Ottumwa; a nephew, Tom Gowdy of Glenwood; a great-nephew, Scott Enloe,. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for his grandchildren’s education.
