Walter Melvin Ware Obituary, 1994

Walter Melvin Ware, 68, of Bloomfield, died Monday (Oct. 17, 1994) at Mount Sinai Hospital. Born Oct. 20, 1925, in Enterprise, Ala., son of the late Lloyd and Bertha Lee Ware, he attended school in Coffee County, Ala., and came to the greater Hartford area in 1947. He was employed by both the former Veeder Root and Hartford Faience Companies, retiring in 1987. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 38 years, Ora (Thomas) Ware; five sons, Willie L. Ware of Florida, Thomas M. and his wife Denyce of East Hartford, Gary A. and his wife Janice of Manchester, Dwight E. Fleming and Stanley M. Fleming, both of Hartford; two daughters, Wanda J. Ware of Bloomfield and LaPrelle Fleming of East Hartford; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his former wife, Thomasene Rozetta of Hartford; other relatives; and many friends. The funeral will be Friday, 10 a.m., at Union Baptist Church, 1921 Main St., Hartford. The Rev. Dr. A. Roger Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. His family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, and Friday, 9-10 a.m., at the church. Contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Union Baptist Church , 1921 Main St., Hartford.
