Betty Boyer Ware, our dear Mother and “Mimi” died on Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the age of 88. Betty was born July 5, 1914 in Paola, Kansas to Frank Gideon and Alta Henson Boyer. Raised and educated in Kansas City, Missouri, Betty graduated from the Barstow School and was a member of the Kansas City Junior League. She and Francis Houghton Ware married on November 16, 1935. Betty and Fran left Missouri in 1946, making Salt Lake City their new home. A lady of strong convictions and charm, Betty was a loving and loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. Family and friends will remember her with affection and admiration. Survived by daughter, Sharon W. Crawley; son, John M. (Sally T.) Ware; grandchildren, Melissa W. Crawley, Brian B. Ware, Jennifer W. (William G.) Gaskill; great-grandson, Samuel G. Gaskill; brother-in-law, Richard M. (Claudia) Ware, Overland Park, Kansas; two nephews and a niece. Preceded in death by husband Francis on June 30, 1986. Please join the family for a graveside service on Friday May 16 at 3:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 S. Highland Drive, followed by a celebration of Betty’s life.
