Mrs. Virginia Ware Knight, 90, of Hamburg, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Stonegate Villa Health & Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mrs. Knight was a native of Wilmar and a resident of Hamburg and Ashley County all of her life. She was a retired seamstress and had worked at Linda’s Dress Shop for many years. She was a member of the Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church where she taught crafts at vacation bible school for many years. She loved doing needle work and crafts and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Knight and Clifton Ware; two sons, Jack & Hogan Ware; a granddaughter, Becky Ware; her parents, Isaiah & Willie Rogers Woods; two brothers, James & Lucky Woods and two sisters, Louise Kenneyton & Beatrice Bradford.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Wanda Hill of El Paso, Texas and Lois Taylor of Alpena, Arkansas; a sister, Julia Mae Barnett of Bonita, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Kim Dickey of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; JaNell Davidson of Harrison, Tony Ware of El Paso, Texas and Terry Ware of Valley Springs; seven great-grandchildren, Charles Hernandez, Katherine Hernandez Ware, Mark Anthony Hernandez Ware all of El Paso, Texas, Chad Dickey and DiHanna Dickey Bass both of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, Ethan Ware and Macy Ware both of Valley Springs; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ferrell Breshears officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tony Ware, Terry Ware, Ethan Ware, Joe Davidson, Chad Dickey, Bill Cason, James Ed Woods and Justin Bass. Honorary pallbearers are Kim Dickey, JaNell Davidson, DiHanna Bass, Lamar Bass, Elleona Bass, Amy Ware, Macy Ware, Joe Hill, Wanda Hill and Lois Taylor.
