Mae Welch Ware, 85, retired University of Kentucky Medical Center laboratory technician, mother of Lester C. Ware, died yesterday. Services 11:30 a.m. Thursday, W.R. Milward Mortuary — Broadway. Visitation 5-8 p.m. today. Contributions suggested to Macedonia Christian Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.

My name is Carroll Darnaby Ware, and my grandmother was Mae Welch Ware. I can’t say I’ve have a lot of history on the Ware part of my family, but I am certainly interested in knowing more. Mae Ware was married to Lester Darnaby Ware who died in 1983 (Born 1915) and they had one child, my father, Lester Carroll Ware. There’s not enough room on the internet to describe how wonderful Mae Ware was and the positive effect she had on those she touched. I’d be happy to share stories and provide all the information I have with respect to the Ware name.
