Jack Holt Ware Obituary, 2006

VALLEY — Mr. Jack Holt Ware, 77, of Valley died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley. Funeral services are planned for Friday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at Friendship Christian Church in Valley with the Rev. Kevin Bauer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Ware is survived his wife, Shirley Duncan Ware; two daughters, Jane (Wayne) Ingram of Valley and Wendy (David) Harmon of West Point; three grandchildren, Chad Draper, Beth Reeves and Bryant Lumpkin; and a great-granddaughter, Janie Rose Reeves. Born Jan. 15, 1929 in Chambers County, Mr. Ware was the son of the late Rosa Tucker Ware and Logan Ware. He was a former employee of WestPoint Stevens. Every day for 44 years, Mr. Ware walked to work at Riverdale Mill. He was a lifelong resident of the Valley area, and he was very active at Friendship Christian Church, where he taught Sunday school and served as a deacon and secretary/treasurer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Friendship Christian Church in his memory. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 29 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley is handling arrangements.
