James L. “Jim” Ware, Sr., 72, of Oskaloosa died Friday, August 28, 2009 at his home in rural Oskaloosa. He was born December 19, 1936 at Aurora, Kansas the son of James Francis and Nellie Lois Morris Ware. Mr. Ware worked as a System Analyst for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, retiring in 1999. He also had worked for the Capper Foundation in Topeka as an Adaptive technician for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in England and France. He was a graduate of Wichita North High School and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Philosophy from Wichita State University. James served two terms on the Board of Education for Oskaloosa Public School District #341. He was a member and the current President of the Friends of The Oskaloosa Public Library. He was married to Paula Jo Lubin on October 4, 1969 at Kansas City, MO., she survives at the home. Other survivors include one Son, Steve Ware, Portland, OR., one Daughter, Alex DeWolfe, Boulder, CO., and four Grandsons. He was preceded in death by a Son, James “Jim” Ware, Jr. In 2008. Cramation is planned. A Memorial Gathering will Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Ware Family Home.
