Coela Ware Desselle Obituary, 1998

A retired employee of Goudchaux’s Department Store and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 5:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 105 and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Interment in Palmetto Cemetery, Walker. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John T. and Dorothy Desselle, Baton Rouge; a grandson, John D. and his wife, Rhonda Desselle, Central; three granddaughters, Sheryl T. Desselle and Susan Patterson, both of Baton Rouge, and Michele Kirshner and her husband, Jeff, Phoenix, Ariz.; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Scott and Rachel Patterson, all of Baton Rouge, Danielle, Matthew and Tyler Desselle, all of Central, and Justin and Sean Kirshner, both of Phoenix.

Preceded in death by parents, John R. Ware and Martha Milton Ware; two sisters, Maude W. Lake and Winnie Ware; and four brothers, Osborn “Buddy” Ware, John R., Lee Davis and Robert Ware. She was a 50-year member of First United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge.
