Jane Marie Watson Ware Obituary, 2007

An educator and a resident of St. Francisville, she died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007. She was 89. Visiting at the St. Francisville United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Danny Gleason and the Rev. Jessie L. Means Jr. Burial in Feliciana Cemetery, St. Francisville. She is survived by her son, Judge George H. Ware Jr., and daughter-in-law, Sandra Smith Ware; grandson, George H. Ware III and his wife, Jessica Anderson Ware; and great-grandsons, Chandler H. Ware and Grayson C. Ware. Pallbearers will be Mayor Billy D’Aquilla, Herbert P. Erwin, state Rep. Thomas H. McVea, Dr. Walker P. McVea, George H. Ware III and Stanley M. Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. Watson and Margaret McNeil Watson; and her brothers, Robert “Sonny” Watson and Lawrence “Lolly” Watson. A member of Kappa Delta sorority, she held a master’s degree in education from LSU and after many years of service as teacher and administrator, retired from the West Feliciana school system as visiting teacher.
