Robert H. “Bob” Ware, 77, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at a local hospital.
Mr. Ware was a native of Pensacola, Fla., and had lived in Lake Charles for more than 56 years. He was a member of Oak Park Methodist Church in Lake Charles, where he served on the Trustee’s Committee and Administrative Council and as an usher. Mr. Ware was a self-employed body shop owner for four years before working for the Ford dealership for over 26 years as its body shop manager.
He was a member of the Navy Reserve and the Air Force, in which he was a staff sergeant. He also served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Ware of Lake Charles; one son, Howard Sockrider and wife Marianna of Pearland, Texas; two brothers, John C. “Sonny” Ware and wife Nadine of Pensacola, Fla., and Francis R. “Buddy” Ware and wife Janey of Port Arthur, Texas; one sister, Mary Evelyn Hall and husband Sam of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Oak Park United Methodist Church. The Rev. Roger Templeton will officiate. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
