Mattie Lou Ware

Mattie Lou Ware, age 87, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at her home. She was the beautiful wife of Robert A. Ware. They shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Groveton, TX, she was the daughter of William Mangum and Clara Rush Mangum. She attended and graduated from Groveton High School. She was employed at Monsanto and Texas City Independent School District and worked as a Secretary at both locations.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of First Baptist Church, Texas City, TX. She enjoyed attending exercise classes at the Lowery Center, Brazilian embroidery, painting, pottery, teaching Sunday School Classes, but most of all spending her time with family and helping others in need.

She will be remembered for her kindness, motherly advice, wittiness and such a caring and loving person to all.

She is survived by her spouse, Robert A. Ware, son Keith E. Ware (Monica), sister Peggy Allen (Bob), Constance Hart grandchildren, Nicole Boumans (Larry), Robert Ware (Tham), Shawn Ware (Jessica) and Caleb Ware. Great-grandchildren Morgan Boumans, Connor Boumans, Zoey Ware and Kayson Ware.

She is predeceased by her parents, her loving son, Gregg A. Ware, siblings Lois Hallmark, Margaret Wright and Glenn Mangum.

The funeral services will be on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3210 Gulf Fwy, Texas City, TX with interment at the Hayes Grace Memorial Cemetery, 10708 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX. The visitation will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100, Gulf Fwy, Texas City, TX. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Texas City, TX
