Dr. Richard Tilman Ware, 85, Royal Ambassador of Christ, Beloved and Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. Born June 21, 1925 in Morningsport, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2011 in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Ware served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class, performing the duties of Arial Photographer and also worked with the Civil Service. Dr. Ware received his PhD in Theology from Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Ware served in the Pastoral capacity for more than 55 years. While serving as Pastor, Dr. Ware’s focus was mainly in witnessing to lead the lost to Christ and encountered along his journey, two events stand out more than the rest, his marriage of 33 years to wife, Pat Montgomery Ware and baptizing George Straight. While serving in the pastoral arena, Dr. Ware served in Arkansas, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Dr. Ware retired from the pastorate after 3 years at Skyline Baptist Church. Education also became a priority to Dr. Ware. He served 18 years as an adjunct Professor of Greek, New Testament, and other subject with International Baptist Bible Institute and Howard Payne University. Dr. Ware is survived by his wife, Pat Montgomery Ware; daughters: Jane McElroy of Starkville, Mississippi, Tonya Carroll of Phoenix, Arizona, Pam Wagner of Lubbock, Texas, and Carol Abigt; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation was held from 6:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Skyline Baptist Church.
