Sandra Ware Obituary

Sandra Lee Ware was born March 18, 1947, to Herman and Helen Ware. She was the 2nd oldest of 4 children. She was born in San Fernando, CA. Sandy graduated from Sylmar HS in 1965. Her first job was Woodworths Department Store when she was 17 yrs. old. After high school she started working for Kaiser Hospital as a “runner” and later was promoted to the Payroll Department. She worked for Kaiser for 42 yrs. During her life Sandy did a lot of traveling. Her first trip was with her Aunt Evelyn; they went on a cruise and after that Sandy was hooked on taking cruises. Sandy went to all different places in the world like Italy, Greece, Spain, Rio, England, Hawaii, and the Carribean. She also did a white water rafting trip down the Colorado River during which she got tossed out of the boat going down the river. Sandy also loved to go to Las Vegas and do a little gambling; her preferred game was Keno at which she did very well.
Sandy never married nor had any children but she had 2 nephews and 1 niece that she loved and spoiled like her own. Sandy kept to herself and was not a huge talker, but did like to get together with friends from work. She was a genious at crossword puzzles. She loved old black and white movies; old time Big Band and Swing era music like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Etta James, and Sinatra. Later in life she found a new liking to computer games. She would play them for hours at a time. Sandy was very picky about her food what she liked and didn’t like. But there was one thing for sure, she loved sweets!
Sandy got cancer in October of 2010. The doctor’s struggled with finding out what kind of cancer she had. She went through chemotherapy and things seemed to be looking up. Later they found out that the cancer never went away and she had problems from then on. The doctor’s did determine that she had ovarian cancer, which had spread to her lungs. Sandy leaves behind 2 sisters, Linda Ware and Karen Paat, and her brother, Herman. In addition she leaves her 3 nephews, Herman Jr., Brandon, and Mike, and her niece, Lynette; along with her great nephew and niece, Joshua and Chloe. She will be forever missed and loved.
