Bernita L. Ware, 88, formerly of Blooming Valley and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Chapmanville, a daughter of Clyde and Kathryn Yochum Armstrong.
She married Calvin Orrin Ware, Sept. 20, 1947, and he survives.
Bernita was a graduate of Titusville High School.
She was a homemaker, and worked as a secretary for 31 years for her husband, when he operated his Nationwide and Erie Insurance agencies.
Bernita was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school treasurer for many years.
Survivors, in addition to her loving husband, Calvin, of 68 years, include two daughters, Cheryl Sheets and her husband, Daryl, of Meadville, and Ronda Martin and her husband, James, of Lincolnton, N.C.; a son, Dr. Lonny Ware and his wife, Dorothy, of Cochranton; six grandchildren, Erin Sheets and her husband, Ahmed Heikal, Marla Sheets, Kara Albrecht and her husband, Michael, Ryan Martin and his wife, Allison, Monica Stitzel and her husband, Clayton, and Kristin Whitaker and her husband, Mark; six great-grandchildren, Colin and Spencer Albrecht, Maya and Chase Stitzel and Finn and Lydia Martin and one expected; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Richard and an infant, Ellis Armstrong.
Calling hours will be Saturday, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, where the funeral and committal service will follow, at 3 p.m. with the the Rev. Philip Torre officiating.
Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
