Jacob was the son of Richard Ware and Mary Polly Wilson of Valley Head,Randolph County,West Virginia.
He married Margaret Rinehart,June 6,1850.They were the parents of:
Virginia Catherine Ware
Eli Newton Ware
Mary Estaline Ware Willard
Stephen Douglas Ware
Rosanna Elizabeth Ware Allison
John Alexander Ware
John was conscripted into the Union Army and served as a Private Compamy C. 10th Iowa Volunteers Regiment.

Jacob See Ware was mention in his father’s will as receiving, along with his brothers James Randolph and John Newton Ware, 100 acres of land and some perishables from his estate. He married his wife Margaret Rinehart on 10 May 1849 and settled down to raise a family in Randolph County, Virginia. During this period of time he was living close to his older sister Matilda Ware and his older brother George Washington Ware. Sometime between 1853 and 1855, he and his family of wife and two children, moved from Virginia to Monroe County, Iowa, where he continued raising a family and working as a farmer. During the Civil War he joined the Union Army and was a private in the 10th Regiment of the Iowa Volunteers, Company C. He had suffered from measles and was admitted to the N 14th General Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. On 16 January 1864 he was treated for chronic bronchitis and died later from that disease. In the 1870 census, his wife Margaret, now widowed, and five of her children were still living in Franklin Township, Monroe County, Iowa. Living with her was Eli age 16, Mary 14, Stephen 11, Rosanna 9 and John 5. Her older daughter Virginia was married the year before.
