Jeremy Richard Ware Obituary, 2010

Jeremy Richard Ware of Fort Bragg died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at home after a long illness. Born on Feb. 16, 1935 in San Francisco, to Pauline and Shirley Ware, he was 73. A memorial service was held Feb. 1 with a private gravesite service at Rose Memorial Park.

Jeremy grew up in Fort Bragg and graduated from Fort Bragg High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1961, reaching the rank of sergeant. On returning to Fort Bragg he took over running the Piedmont Hotel from 1961-1986. He was a skipper on his party boat, had a computer store from 1986 to 1996. In 1997 he opened the Pudding Creek Farms Jam and Jelly business, which he ran until his death in January 2010.

His hobbies were fishing and hunting deer and ducks. He participated in the annual benefit for Parents & Friends, Inc., and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Jeremy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nobuko Ware of Fort Bragg; children, Debra White of Santa Cruz, Calif., Patricia Rood of Bothell, Wash., Cathrine Shaffer of Fort Bragg and Theresa Daniels of Santa Rosa; grandchildren, Brian, Michael and Laura Rood, Mitchell, Palmer and Kendall Evans, Christopher and Dennis White. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Allison Rood, and his brother, Kirk Ware.

Memorials are suggested to Mendocino Coast District Hospital Hospice.
