Lavaun Marie Ware, age 82, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Mo.
Lavaun was born the daughter of Hueitte and Anna (Herberger) Whitworth on March 27, 1931, in Carroll County, Mo. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Ware on May 1, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo.
He survives of the home. She worked as a Bookkeeper for L” O Sales for many years. Lavaun was an avid bowler. She loved reading and flowers.
Survivors include husband, Kenneth, of the home; one son, Steve Duncan and wife Mary, of Pittsburg, Kan.; one daughter, Janet Churchill and husband Cliff, of Lawrence, Kan.; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Whitworth and wife Karen, of Kearney, Mo.; and two sisters, Joyce Surber and husband Ronald, of Meadville, Mo., and Virginia McCollum, of Chillicothe, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lily Whitworth; and one grandson, Charles Lee Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at 3 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, from noon until 8 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.
