The dedication of William Henry Harrison Memorial Park, which was named for the great-grandson of the ninth president of the United States, was held June 2 in Sugar Creek. Mrs. Ethel E. Harrison, widow of William Henry Harrison IV, great-grandson and namesake of the ninth president, was on hand for the dedication. Mrs. Harrison gave part of the acreage for the park. Mrs. Virginia Harrison Ware, great-great-granddaughter of the president, and daughter of William Henry Harrison IV, was also present. E.C. “Pete” Saxton, Sugar Creek street commissioner, was the leader in developing the park.
