William Ware Obituary, 2015

William Ware, 77, of Cataumet MA, died March 25, 2015 with his family by his side.  He was born to the late Henry and Elizabeth Ware, December 8, 1937, in Glenn Ridge, NJ.

William graduated from Vermont Academy in 1955, and then received an A.B. from Harvard University in 1959.  While at Harvard, he was a member of the Speakers Club, the Hasty Pudding Club, the Harvard Sailing Team and a part owner in the Café Capriccio in Harvard Square.

He served as a lieutenant in the Navy from 1959 to 1962 and then in the reserves until 1973.

He received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1964 and worked as a management consultant in Europe and the U.S. until the time of his death.

In his later years Bill became very active in the Bourne community serving as a volunteer in the Department of Integrated Solid Waste Management and on the Capital Outlays Committee.

William’s passions included his family, duplicate bridge, serving his community, racing with the Buzzards Yacht Club and sailing his beloved boats on Buzzards Bay.   He loved a fine wine and a well-constructed fluffernutter, equally.

William is survived by his wife, Susan, of 52 years and his four children:  Elisabeth Ware of Seattle, Washington; Anne Schaefer of Ware, Massachusetts; Mary Ware, of Norco, California; and William Ware, Jr., of Hanover, New Hampshire; and six grandsons.

Services to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bourne Community Boating, PO Box 3157, Bourne, MA 02532.
