James T. “Jim” Ware June 11, 1926 ~ July 5, 2014 Hattiesburg James T. “Jim” Ware, 88, of Hattiesburg, died July 5, 2014, at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg, followed by burial in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Ware retired as Vice President of Operation for Cajun Electric Coop after working with Mississippi Power and Illinois Power. He was a member of Hardy Street Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the first wave of occupation into Japan. Mr. Ware was Secretary, Treasurer and Manager of East Forrest Utility District, started the first volunteer fire department in Petal and was the former Fire Coordinator for Forrest County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Shepard Ware and a son, Charles Lemuel Ware. He is survived by one son, J. Larry Ware of Hattiesburg; two daughters he did not raise, Laura Merrill Ware, wife of Charles and Joni Price Ware, wife of Larry; four grandchildren, Bryan Ware, Lindsey Ellzey, Nicole Partridge and James Ware; and five great-grandchildren, Colleen Ellzey, Colby Ellzey, Jackson Partridge, William Partridge and Elizabeth Partridge. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30 – 9 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
