Stephen Ernest Ware, 45, of Modesto died Friday. Mr. Ware was a native of Madera. He grew up in Los Banos and graduated from Los Banos High School in 1973. He was a painter for 25 years and had worked for David Gillum Painting.

He is survived by his son, Stephen E. Ware II of Modesto; brother, Randall Ware of Los Banos; and sisters, Jackie Owen, Sharon Gillum and Patty Gonzalez, all of Modesto.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, Dos Palos. Burial will follow at Dos Palos Cemetery, Dos Palos.
