Helen Ware Bishenauer

86, of Bloomington, formerly of Springfield and Daytona Beach, Fla., died at 7:05 p.m. Monday at BroMenn Lifecare Center in Bloomington.

She was born Feb. 14, 1907, in Blue Mound, the daughter of George W. and Grace Donner Ware. She married Roy R. Bishenauer in 1945 in Springfield. Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy in 1972; a brother; and a sister.

Mrs. Bishenauer was co-owner of Ware Oil Co. in Jacksonville. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 152 and Victory Club, both in Springfield. She graduated from Atwood High School and the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in English.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra A. D’Alenssandro of Heyward and Nancy S. Leonard of Apopka, Fla.; stepdaughter, Jackie George of Springfield; stepson, Ronald Bitschenauer of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield, with the Rev. Dan Siepert officiating.

Bisch and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
