Orby M. Ware Sr., 64, a Chicago longshoreman for many years, died Sunday in Atlantic City, N.J.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Ware was a South Side resident for 35 years. He was a World War II veteran, an executive member in the longshoremen’s union and a member of Operation PUSH.

He is survived by four sons, Orby Jr., Lester, Ronnie and John Olive; a daughter, Arnette Floyd; nine grandchildren; three brothers, and three sisters.

Services will be at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Langley Avenue Church of God, 6159 S. Langley. Visitation will be at the church an hour before the services. Burial will be at Burr Oak Cemetery, Alsip.
