Charles was the son of John Henry Ware and Jane Snodgrass. His father had 22 children 11 with Jane. He was married to Cluva Elizabeth Fox and they had nine children together. One of their children Hurshall Wallace is buried also in Hazelwood Cemetery. One of his sisters Clarinda Ware Dickson is also buried there.
