Arlie Eugene Ware, 75, a resident of Elkins, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his loving family Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Valley Head.
Arlie was born Friday, August 16, 1940 in Valley Head, a son of the late Virgil and Ivy Ware.
On June 1, 1970 in Cowger he married the former Karen Riggleman who survives in Elkins.
They had two beautiful daughter, Lisa Sparks and husband Tim of Elkins and Mary Ware and companion Darin Gallagher of Elkins.
Arlie taught his daughters to drive, hunt and fish. Grandchildren, Rebecca “Becky” Sparks, Timmy Sparks, his hunting and fishing buddy, and Isaiah Sparks, his puzzle buddy, great grandson, Baylen. Arlie’s daughters, grandchildren and great grandchild were his pride and joy.
Also surviving are five siblings, Dorothy Weese and husband Gail of Valley Bend, Shirley Amos and husband Junior of Monterville, Doris Doyle and husband Ronnie of Mace, Donald Ware and wife Diana of Valley Head and Keith Ware and wife Rachel of Huttonsville, special nephew Shawn Skidmore, his hunting buddy, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Arlie in death besides his parents was one nephew, Ricky Skidmore, one grandchild and three great grandchildren.
Arlie attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed at Chrysler in Newark, Delaware for thirteen years.
He then moved back home to Valley Head and went to work for the WV DOH until he was hired at the North Branch Coal Company.
Arlie also worked for several coal companies including R D & J, McCindy, Buzz Bailey, Burfords and Back Fork. He was known as one of the best “roof bolters” while working in the coal mines.
His final place of employment was at the Mount Storm Power Plant.
Arlie loved the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling and tending to his garden.
Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends and especially his hunting buddies.
He was an awesome fly fisherman.
Arlie will be missed by all who loved him and was friends with him.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday from 6P-8P.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11A.
Rev. David Thompson and Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cowger Cemetery in Monterville.
