Freda Leone Horr Ware-Courchesna Obituary, 2007

WRENTHAM – Freda Leone (Horr) Ware-Courchesne, 90, of Wrentham, where she lived for over 60 years, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 at Caritas-Norwood Hospital in Norwood.

Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Sarah (Bickford) Horr. She was educated in Portland and Norwood.

Formerly of Long Island, Maine and Norwood, she retired in 1982 after over 10 years with the Hilsinger Company in Plainville. She had also worked at the Wrentham State School, and Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

She was very active in the Wrentham Senior Center, was president of the Seniors Monday Club, and a member of the Thursday Club. She also loved singing in the Sweet Sixties, and planned many trips for the seniors to New Hampshire and Maine.

She played organ and piano by ear, and enjoyed flowers and birdwatching.

She was the loving mother of Jacqueline F. Farrar and her husband Barrie of Plainville, Cheryl L. McGrath and her husband Charles of Wrentham, and the late William J. Ware; the sister of Alice G. Brissette of East Walpole and the late Ernest Woodbury; and the grandmother of Cynthia Horbaczewski, Dawna Thompson, Amy Naggar, Cara Mulcahy, Charles McGrath, Cheryl Dittrich and Elizabeth Ware. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 6 p.m., with a service at 5:30 p.m. at the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Wrentham.

Burial will be in Centre Cemetery in Wrentham on Thursday at 11 a.m.
