She was retired from Duracell Battery Co. and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy Ware and Irene Ware; two brothers: Herman Ware and Gene Ware; and four sisters: Betty Ware, Mae Ware, Aileen Ray and JoAnn Higdon.
Bernice will be remembered by her love and generosity to her friends and family.
Survivors include one brother, Jack Ware; one sister, Joyce Higdon, both of Cleveland; her faithful companion, “Delores”; 14 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grissom Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Bob Higdon, Tom Elliot, Bobby Tippens, Nolan Tippens, Jonathan Higdon, Kyle Tippens, Joe Elliot and Sam Elliot serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
