He was born on March 17, 1927 to the late Charles and Ethel (Dodson) Ware in Fairmont,,W.VA. . He attended schools in West Virginia before going into the Navy in 1944. He was an inspector for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He was a officer in NAVRE, member of the Knights of Columbus, Former Commander of American Legion and life member at Bellevue Eagles and Bellevue VFW.

Ed enjoyed gardening and golf and was honored to be associated with all military service organizations and proud to have been the Post Commander of the American Legion Post 46 for 1992-1993.
