Lilla Susan Clark was born at Jacksonville, Calhoun County, Alabama, August 19, 1857, and was educated at Selma, Alabama. She married James Chambers Ware in Selma November 27, 1878. Mr. Ware is an educated pharmacist and has an important position with Messrs. Gay, Hardie & Durr, wholesale druggist in Montgomery, Alabama. Mr. and Mrs. Ware are members of the Presbyterian Church. They have a nice home on South Court Street in Montgomery. Two children:

1. Algie Percy Ware, born September 29, 1880. An elegant, cultured and refined young woman.

2. Jessie Gray Ware, born May 23, 1890. An interesting girl in her teens, receiving her education.
