Ivan Ware: Man killed when pulled into crane gears

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A worker for a concrete company was killed when he became entangled in the gears of a crane he was repairing.

Ivan Ware, 37, died Saturday. He was a longtime employee at Metro Ready Mix.

Witnesses say the crane motor was running as Ware worked on it, but Nashville Det. Tom Jones said that apparently was not unusual.

Other workers were unable to free Ware after he became caught in the gears, and he died before rescuers arrived.
