Gary W. Ware, age 70, formerly of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2016 in Peoria, Arizona. Gary was a 1963 graduate of Weaver High School and attended Howard University. Gary worked in various computer repair and retail positions in Connecticut and New York before relocating to Arizona later in life. Gary was the son of the late Fred and Bernice (Johnson) Ware. He is survived by his former wife, Joan Barnes, children Courtney Ware, Jason Ware, and grandson, Jaylen Morales, all of Bronx New York. He is also survived by siblings; Ferne (and Charles) Ridley of Glendale Arizona and Bradley Ware (and Lisa Heintz) of Hartford Connecticut. Gary was a lifelong jazz enthusiast as well as into all forms of photography. He spent his final years in an assisted living facility in Peoria Arizona reading, relaxing and recalling aspects of his life on the East coast. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be private at the convenience of the family. A memorial celebration of Gary’s life will be held in the Hartford area at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary’s honor to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or Hospice of the Valley (Phoenix AZ). The family wants to thank the staff of Amethyst Arbor Assisted Living for all their support and caring especially during the last 6 months of Gary’s life.
