Jalana Marie Ware of Glendora, CA went to be with her Lord
and Saviour. She was born Jalana Marie Carpenter in Lancaster,
OH to Allen and Helen Carpenter (she was a descendent of
the passengers of the Mayflower – on Her Father’s side of
the family). She met Walter F. (“Buddy”) Ware at Mars Hill College
NC in 1960, and they married on June 20, 1964. She joined him in
Atlanta Georgia, where Walt graduated from the Georgia Institute of
Technology. They lived for many years in Palos Verdes, CA where
their three children were born. After many worldwide adventures,
they returned to CA in 1997.
Jalana was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all
with many wonderful qualities; including her loving, gentle, nurturing
spirit and patience. She loved to gather people together and always
made certain that everyone felt at home.
Jalana is survived by her husband Walter F. Ware, her three children:
Lance Ware and significant other, Julie Harney, Christina Curtis and
husband Thomas Curtis, and Jennifer von Sternberg and husband
Jerry von Sternberg. Her immediate grandchildren: Alexandria
Ware, Bridgette Ware, Lucas Curtis & Catherine Curtis. Her brother
in-law Larry Ware and wife Pam Ware, and cousins Susan Rigby and
Maryanne Rigby; and many others who experienced her love.
