Lauranna F. Ware, 64, of Kanawha City, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at home after an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 16, 1951 in Charleston, daughter of the late Edward and Fannie Jackson Ware.
Lauranna retired from the West Virginia Board of Registered Nurses. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church, where she was active with the Girl Scouts. She was a 1968 graduate of Charleston High School.
Lauranna is survived by her two sons, Jeff A. Ware of Cross Lanes and Joe A. Wallace of Charleston; four sisters, Sheila Sims and Carolyn Hairston (Steve), both of Charleston, Deborah Tyson (Richard) of Houston, Texas, and Lisa Lugo (Rafael) of Alexandria, Va.; five brothers, James Ware (Linda) and Steve Ware (Karen), both of Atlanta, Ga., Benny Ware, Richard Ware and Jerry Ware (Amanda), all of Charleston; grandchildren, Jayla Ware and Nathaniel Wallace; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Lauranna’s life will be held at noon Saturday, March 12, at St. Paul AME Church, 1108 2nd Ave., Charleston, with the Rev. John Sylvia officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
