
John Dale Ware Jr., 67, beloved husband, stepfather, son, brother and friend, passed away Jan. 4, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born to parents John Dale and Lola Emmaline Ware on Aug. 25, 1951, in Laurel, Miss. John graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1969 and enrolled at Mississippi State University that same year. From 1969 to 1972, he studied in the prepharmacy program at MSU and then went on to the University of Mississippi to graduate with a B.S. in pharmacy in 1975.,
Immediately after graduation, John began his service to his country as a uniformed officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. He served military service members for 28 years as a pharmacist and health care administrator. In 2004, he was honorably discharged from active duty and continued his career as a pharmacist in private hospitals until he retired in 2015.
On May 28, 2005, John married his best friend, Sherry, who survives him. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Kristen Weier, Allison Harrell, Bethany George, Christi Whitmire; stepson, Michael Sisk; mother, Lola Emmaline Ware; brother, James R. Ware; and many grandchildren and friends. John was preceded in death by his father, John Dale Ware Sr.
Visitation will be held at the Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson, Miss., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, and will be imediately followed by a memorial service to celebrate John’s life that will begin at noon. Burial service will be presented by the Rev. Sid Johnson at 3 p.m. in the Beezer Cemetery in Raleigh, Miss.
