Franklin W. Ware was born Feb. 20, 1820 in Caroline County, Virginia and died Jan. 30, 1878 in Richmond, Virginia. He married Martha Ellen Cauthorne (B.Sep. 28, 1820 – D.Jan. 27, 1906), on Dec. 15, 1842 in Virginia.

He is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, however, his gravestone lists his birth date as Feb. 21, 1820.

A Ware family Bible gives the wife’s name and marriage date.

The 1850 and 1870 Census and other sources provide the names of the children:
William Henry Ware, Born Dec 6, 1844. He died Aug. 29, 1928.
Thomas Milton Ware, Born Dec 30, 1846. He died Mar. 12, 1916.
Frances Ellen “Fannie” Ware, Born June 20, 1848. She died Nov. 8 1881.
Mary Ann Ware, Born Nov 26, 1852. She died Sep. 12, 1926.
Martha “Mattie” Cauthorne Ware, Born Jan. 30, 1857. She died Mar 15, 1907.
Ida Ware, Born Feb. 15, 1860. She died Mar. 1864.
Ida May Ware, Born Mar 18, 1864. She died Aug. 14, 1952.
