Son of John Thomas Ware and Elizabeth Lillian Vincent Ware.
John, who resided in Felton, Delaware, served as a Private with Company L, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on October 21, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.
He was “Killed In Action” at St. Lo, Normandy, France during the war.
He had served in the Army for seven months at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
VFW Post 6009 was named for him along with fellow soldiers: Loren Charles Adams and Caleb Simpler.
