Anna Marie Ware

OTTUMWA — Anna Marie Ware, 77, of 806 Boone Ave., died at 8:30 p.m. April 2, 2012 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born January 2, 1935 in Kirksville, MO to Pearl Edward and Opal Leona Adkins Brackney. She married Charles D. Ware on October 19, 1990. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2001. A graduate of Kirksville High School, she had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1967. Anna Marie was a licensed practical nurse, and worked in several hospitals, retiring from Good Samaritan in Ottumwa in 1991. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kirksville, MO. She enjoyed her children, her grandchildren, her dogs, flowers, gardening, garage sales and helping anyone in need. Surviving are a daughter, Debra (Kenneth) McLeland of Ottumwa; four sons, Randall (Val) Anders of Princeville, IL, Tim Anders of Ottumwa, David (Wendy) Boone of Sturgis, SD, William Cooper of Springfield, MO; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Brackney of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Beverly Billings of LaPlata, MO and Arlene Mills of Niceville, FL and her adopted daughter, Cindy Grant of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by a son, Dan Anders and a sister, Betty Kunster. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Memorials have been established to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501 and Heartland Humane Society, P.O. Box 1149, Ottumwa, IA 52501.
