Harvey Ware Obituary, 2012

CLINTON — Harvey “Bud” Ware, 87, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, at the Alverno, Clinton. Cremation rights have been accorded and private services have taken place. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements. Harvey was born September 10, 1924, in Mobile, Alabama, the son of Frank and Janna (Pluister) Ware. Harvey was a 1942 graduate of Dixon High School in Dixon, Illinois. He then attended Cornell College for one year. From 1942 through 1946, Harvey served in the United States Navy as a Navy pilot and was a World War II veteran. On February 6, 1947, he married Joan Hubbard in Sterling, Illinois. She passed away and he later married Joyce Oster in 1992. Harvey worked for Sherwin Williams paint store for 25 years. Harvey was a member of many organizations including: Lions Club, Golden Kiwanis Club, Habitat for Humanity and was member of the Methodist church. He participated in several blood drives and he coached his son in baseball. Overall, Harvey was a vibrant and positive outgoing person a loving father and grandfather. Harvey is survived by his wife, Joyce of Thomasville, Georgia; three daughters, Carol (Tom) Sylthe of Elgin, Illinois, Paula (Paul) Novak of West Chicago, Illinois, Brenda (Jeff) Stombres of Plain Field, Illinois; one son, Craig (Linda) Ware of Fulton, Illinois; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joan; one grandson, Edward; two sisters and two brothers.
